ASM Global Assistant Box Office Manager in Wichita, Kansas

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for Assistant Box Office Manager at INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas.

Summary: Under general direction of the Box Office Manager, acts as the liaison between the Box Office Manager, Team Members and the general public.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise part-time, tenant, contractual computing, box office and phone team members. Properly schedule team members to cover facility operating hours in efficient and effective manner. Assign specific work tasks and monitor progress as to timeliness and quality of results.

  • Prepare cash banks and daily inventory of all tickets distributed. Reconcile all ticketing transactions for multiple venues. Process daily batch request of tickets ordered for mail.

  • Oversee marketing efforts for Select-A-Seat, including but not limited to: website, social media, and e-blasts. Initiate and expand Select-A-Seat social media outreach.

  • Coordinate all ticket event information and ticket operations for tenant team events. Attend weekly meetings with tenant regarding event operations and future ticket promotions.

  • Coordinate and inform ticket sellers and phone operators of all events on Select-A-Seat for multiple venues of needed information to effectively make ticketing transactions.

  • Develop training programs that ensure all team members are proficient in operating and maintaining computer, ticketing, and phone systems. Create and present yearly box office training at the start of the fall season outlining any new policies or expectations for staff members.

  • Develop, implement, document, and maintain effective ticketing maintenance policies, procedures, and programs. Properly train new part time staff on ASM Global/Select-A-Seat procedures.

  • Attend weekly staff meetings. Develop and maintain a harmonious working relationship with all other departments.

  • Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed. Regular attendance is an essential job function.

  • Assists or sells tickets as needed.

  • Efficiently and courteously answers questions concerning prices, seating, and events. Gives information concerning upcoming attractions. Communicate with show promoters and handle requests in a timely manner.

  • Maintain proper staffing numbers for both daytime and event scheduling to ensure the box office can run efficiently during normal business hours as well as event hours.

  • Monitor and respond to inquiries received in the Select-A-Seat customer service email.

  • Provide weekly sales updates to ASM Global Corporate team.

  • Complete all ticket donation requests.

  • Position requires the ability to work at all local ASM Global venues.

  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manages the Ticket Sellers and/or other Box Office staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM Global’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; training of staff; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

  • Minimum 2 years Box Office Experience (preferred).

  • High School diploma or GED/ bachelor’s degree in business, Management, or Marketing (preferred).

  • Supervisory experience (preferred).

  • Strong computer skills and excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required.

  • Experience cash handling and security procedures.

  • Ability to speak read and write in English.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrate knowledge in operational procedures, ticketing software, and industry terminology, particular the methods, techniques, and procedures to repair and maintain all ticketing computers and phone related materials.

  • Be familiar with the principles and techniques of supervision, and training.

  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.

  • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.

  • Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule, and produce accurate results.

  • Work independently and demonstrate the ability to exercise effective judgment and initiative.

  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment.

  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.

  • Must be able to pass a background/credit check.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle and count coins and currency. The person must be able to climb multiple stairs, work from various heights, and walk long distances to access all seating within the venue. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. When maintaining computer hardware will require the lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs for extended distances.
