JOB SUMMARY:
The Fire Systems Intern role is to fulfill activities for assigned section(s) of the Security Departments scope of responsibilities. To continually build a Fire Systems knowledge base that enables effective guidance and forward thinking.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform Fire Systems Maintenance processes such as procurement and Invoicing, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and contractor management.
Oversee Fire Systems activities within area of responsibility.
Establish priorities and leverages Fire Systems resources to completion of tasks.
Responsible for meeting assigned schedule, cost and quality goals.
Responsible for company and departmental safety or housekeeping audits, checking on workmanship, efficiencies, safe working conditions and methods and compliance with work orders.
Attend, participate and lead department meetings for items such as general communications, resolving departmental problems (scheduling, quality, etc.) and planning for work execution.
Supervise and assign employees and/or contractors for service work in line with schedules regulatory requirements.
Administer and oversee contract services for security/fire operations.
Lead security/fire projects
CAR project oversite and completion
Maintain effective communication and progress reports on all active projects
Strategic planning and audit processes
Recommend, coordinate and execute cost saving measures for assigned area of responsibility.
Communicate with customers on fire systems related issues, providing sufficient feedback as to status of and requirements needed to address any on-going issues.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Safety, Fire, Security Services or related field.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficient in written and verbal communication
Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks on a day-to-day basis.
Experience with Fire systems preferred.
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license
Must be able to obtain an Airport access badge and pass background screenings per TSA standards.
Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.
Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks.
Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
