Spirit AeroSystems 2025 Community College Summer Intern: Business Procurement in Wichita, Kansas

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Flight begins with you at Spirit AeroSystems, a place where you can explore your interests and grow your career by working on impactful projects. As a Business Procurement Intern, your responsibilities and duties will include:

Procurement Agent

  • Understanding part number rolls/changes

  • How to incorporate changes into a contract

  • Assist with Preparing & Releasing Request for Information (RFI)/Request for Quote (RFQ)/Request for Proposal (RFP), Analyzing and Evaluating Proposals, Negotiating Terms and Conditions, and Recommendation of Supplier Selection

  • Exposure to S3P; Gated process designed to ensure alignment between programs and functions for strategic reviews and approvals.

  • Administration of paperwork in Ariba

  • Navigating the office environment:

  • Office Communications

  • Meeting Cadences

  • Networking

    Purchase Order Management

  • Assist with purchase order changes and outputs

  • Understanding header text and boiler plates (reading comprehensive)

  • Assist with running load reports (computer skills)

  • Provide Supplier Status updates in SAP (MD04)

  • Review and understanding of:

  • System Demand

  • Line Unit Assignments

  • Work with Spirit Buyer, Spirit Engineering and Supplier on Quality Notification tags

  • Learn how to interface with suppliers

  • Attend part shortage meeting to gain an understanding on questions a buyer may be asked.

  • Attend Program Management Reviews to learn presentation skills and questions to ask a suppliers.

  • Navigating the office environment:

  • Office Communications

  • Meeting Cadences

  • Networking

  • Attend supplier visits to gain awareness

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • You must be a US Person (US Citizen or US Permanent Resident)

  • You must be enrolled full time in a university degree program aligned to the area of internship.

  • You must be a current sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student in good academic standing.
