UW - WHITEWATER Lecturer - Literature, Writing and Film in WHITEWATER, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB ID: 20972 ATTENTION: The Department of Literature, Writing, and Film in the College of Letters and Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater invites applications for one or more full-time Academic Staff Lecturers in First-Year English, starting Fall 2024 for the 2024-25 academic year. This will be a 9-month fixed-term appointment. Reappointment for subsequent terms is dependent upon the needs of the University, funding, staffing requirements, and external forces. JOB DETAILS: Teaching assignments will be primarily English 101 (Introduction to College Writing and Reading) and 102 (Introduction to College Writing, Reading, and Research), with the possibility of English 90 (Fundamentals of English) and 100 (Intensive College Writing and Reading). RESPONSIBILITIES: Full-time teaching responsibility consists of teaching twenty-seven credits of undergraduate English courses per year. Instructors in the Department of Literature, Writing, and Film at UW-W are expected to teach in person and participate in professional developmental activities. Desired Qualifications: -Ph.D. in Rhetoric/Composition, English, or in a related field. -Experience teaching Developmental Writing at the college level. -Strong commitment to teaching. -Commitment to creating inclusive learning environments centered around active and innovative pedagogy, particularly in general education composition courses.
