Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Team Lead assists the Department Supervisor in maximizing productivity and employee morale, ensuring service levels are met. They monitor staffing to ensure all distribution tasks are completed and notify the Supervisor of any employee, system, or operational issues. Additionally, they act as a working lead by participating in and assisting with tasks within their assigned operational area.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the department supervisor by managing work assignments and adjusting staffing to optimize operational flow and labor hours.

  • Monitors workers' productivity, assesses their performance, inspects their work to meet the specified standards, detects areas that need to be improved, and gives workers detailed feedback on their performance in order to make them aware and do better.

  • Run productivity reports, ensure accurate and damage-free handling of materials, and organizing products for maximum efficiency.

  • Monitor work activities within assigned areas reporting status updates to supervisor.

  • Troubleshooting system/process issues, assisting with corrective procedures, and providing status updates to the department supervisor.

  • Ensures the work environment is healthy and conducive for workers to carry out their duties without subjecting themselves to any harm or danger.

  • Ensures all work equipment is functional and available; inspects equipment to identify shortages and damages; relates findings to management for quick resolution that assures minimum distractions of operations flow.

  • Orders new equipment and supplies as directed by management; inspects deliveries to ensure the quality and quantity is correct.

  • Coordinate training for new associates and help develop daily/weekly operational plans.

  • Identify and address all safety hazards within the work area.

  • Performs direct labor tasks when leadership duties are completed.

  • Ensure a safe, sanitary work environment.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for supervising a team of employees.

PHYSICAL ASPECTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Regularly requires standing, walking, sitting, and various movements such as reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, along with talking and hearing.

  • Ability to lift and/or move items up to 75 pounds regularly.

  • Repetitively maneuvering and handling of product up to 75 pounds.

  • Vision requirements: Requires close, distance, and color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving parts, fumes, airborne particles, extreme temperatures, electrical shock risks, and toxic or caustic chemicals.

  • Work environment typically has low to moderate noise levels.

  • Operating some Powered Industrial Trucks (PITs) may require working at heights of up to 32 feet.

  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 1-3 years of prior leadership experience within the distribution/warehouse industry

  • WMS systems experience, Red Prairie preferred

  • Proven leadership skills including the ability to coach, train, and motivate associates

  • Knowledge of computers and applications (MS Office, distribution programs)

  • Experience managing team performance and providing constructive feedback

  • Models and supports organization’s goals and values

  • Demonstrated leadership by example, proven and work ethic

  • Ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate team activities to ensure smooth operations

  • Ability to work overtime as necessary

Compensation Benefits

GNC offer a base pay of 20.50 per hour, with the opportunity to earn additional weekly income through GNC's Individual Supply Chain Incentive Plan. In locations where specific minimum wage requirements apply, the pay range may vary. At GNC, base pay is just one component of our total compensation package. Pay within the range is determined by various factors, including education, work experience, certifications, and federal, state, and local minimum wage regulations. This structure allows for progression as team members grow and develop within their roles.
