Robert Half Staff Accountant in White Plains, New York
Description We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our workforce in WHITE PLAINS, New York. This role is within the industry and primarily revolves around processing financial information, managing accounts, and engaging with other team members to ensure smooth financial operations.
Responsibilities:
• Managing the preparation and review process of financial statements
• Leading the monthly financial closure activities
• Ensuring accurate journal entries and management adjustments through thorough documentation
• Conducting weekly bank reconciliations for our trading company
• Regularly forecasting monthly cash flow projections
• Upholding accounting controls by proposing and preparing policies and procedures
• Performing in-depth review of general ledger accounts, including aging schedules for accounts receivable and payable
• Collaborating with operations, trading, finance, and accounting to integrate a newly developed trading system with the existing accounting system
• Recording sale and purchase transactions, vendor expenses, and cash receipts accurately
• Researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations to ensure best business practices
• Compiling financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information, including trend analysis
• Safeguarding the company's assets and records by maintaining confidentiality of financial information
• Contributing to the team by undertaking related projects as necessary. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Proven experience as a Staff Accountant
• Proficiency in essential accounting software, including NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations accurately and efficiently
• Knowledge of General Ledger operations
• Experience in preparing Journal Entries
• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures
• Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data.
