Robert Half Payroll Specialist in White Plains, New York

Description We are offering a contract-to-hire employment opportunity for a meticulous Payroll Specialist to join our team in WHITE PLAINS, New York. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be instrumental in managing our payroll system, ensuring accurate and timely processing. You will also be expected to maintain a deep understanding of our Accounting Software Systems, with a particular emphasis on Paylocity.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate processing and recording of company's payroll through Paylocity

• Utilize Accounting Software Systems to manage payroll functions effectively

• Perform regular auditing of payroll data to maintain accuracy and compliance

• Manage benefit functions in coordination with payroll operations

• Use Excel to create pivot tables and apply VLOOKUP functions for data analysis

• Maintain detailed records and documentation for audit purposes

• Resolve payroll-related inquiries and issues in a timely manner

• Continually update skills in both payroll processing and the use of financial software

• Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting

• Stay informed on the regulations, tax laws, and best practices in payroll processing. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Familiarity with Accounting Functions and Auditing

• Experience in Benefit Functions

• Expertise in Payroll management

• Proficiency in using Pivot Table and VLOOKUP functions in Excel

• Experience with Paylocity software

• Strong mathematical and analytical skills

• Excellent communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High degree of professionalism and ethical standards

• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred

• Relevant certification, such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), is an advantage

• Previous experience in a similar role is desirable
