Associate Director Data Specialist Specialty Franchise

Your tasks and responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, Associate Director Data Specialist – Specialty Franchise are to:

Information Strategy:

  • Support Franchises’ insight leads in developing overarching data strategy for Franchises’ to enable them to address key business questions and direct associated analytics and reporting

  • Identify IT, data governance, data management and data QC gaps and required changes needed to meet business objectives

  • Conduct launch readiness data assessment and ongoing reassessment based on changing business needs

Data Use

  • Support Franchises’ in locating and effectively using data sources required to meet objectives

  • Enable Insight Teams to perform their required analytics by assisting them with their data access, data structure, data QC and business rule needs

  • Lead communication of data management and reporting updates

  • Organize / facilitate data and reporting tool training

  • KPI Identification

  • Support Franchises to develop appropriate KPI’s to measure their

  • business

  • Accountable for documenting, processing and implementing relevant

  • business KPIs

Data Quality

  • Profile, monitor and report on data quality and execute data quality

  • corrective action

  • Responsible for ensuring external vendors to ensure data quality by

  • managing SLAs and SOPs

  • Ensure hierarchies and mapping accuracy and establish processes and

  • Procedures

  • Develop/Implement reporting rules and processes

  • Partner with Visualization and Reporting Specialist to implement

  • relevant KPI reporting

Data Optimization

  • Support budget development regarding data sources

  • Identify overlaps in data sources to ensure overall efficiency

  • Work with business and insights teams to identify business use cases

  • for Data Acquisition

  • Collaborate with Data Acquisition to identify new, innovative data sources and opportunities

  • Provide Data Acquisition with Service Level Agreements and Standard Operating procedures to include in vendors agreements

  • Work with Data Acquisition to complete the onboarding of data sources

This position’s primary focus will be on providing QC, business rule implementation, and flexible access to Franchises. Typical day to day activities will include:

  • Becoming fluent with Franchise data as a foundation for reports and analytics

  • Assisting in identifying potential new reports / analytics and end-user requirements

  • Executing proof of concept mini initiatives - in close collaboration with the analytics team as appropriate

  • Participating in formulating Franchise data strategy

  • Ensure the right information gets to the right places

  • Provide guidelines and principles for consistent and compliant data interactions across systems/functions

  • Leverage knowledge of internal data capabilities and external data landscape to ensure nimble commercial decision-making for launches and established products

  • Translate business objectives into data needs

  • Monitor data quality and reinforce accountability of internal partners and external providers

  • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on data reliability and usability

Who you are

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS with at least 5 years of overall experience; experience working within the US Pharma industry, developing centralized data strategies for specialty products

  • Understanding of marketing data, especially digital (video, email, etc.)

  • Understanding of logistics & distribution processes for specialty products

  • Experience with data visualization tools, Programming, and strong SQL

Preferred Qualifications:

  • (MBA or MS preferred)

  • Experience developing centralized data strategies for specialty products (i.e., Oncology, MS,orphan drugs)
