Aerotek Maintenance Technician in Westover, Maryland

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimization of equipment and systems. This role requires a hands-on approach to troubleshoot mechanical issues, ensure the reliability of production equipment, and contribute to a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance on equipment (e.g., mixers, grinders, conveyors, and fans) to ensure optimal performance.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform repairs on various equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.

  • Work closely with the production team to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation of the feed mill.

  • Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment as required.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations, promoting a culture of safety in the workplace.

  • Collaborate with other maintenance staff to achieve operational goals and improve efficiency.

  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanical maintenance is a plus.

  • Previous experience in maintenance within a manufacturing or agricultural environment preferred.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems and record-keeping.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks.

  • Comfortable working at 200 feet

  • Comfortable working in various environmental conditions (e.g., noise, dust, and temperature variations).

  • Willingness to work at heights and in confined spaces as needed.
