Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Westmont, Illinois
Description
We are currently seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing all invoices and authorized check payments for this company in compliance with the company’s procedures. This includes maintaining ledgers, credit balances, and account irregularities. The Accounts Payable Specialist will also ensure that procedures are compliant with federal regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities:
Process accounts payable using accounting software and other programs
Manage invoices and tax payments, optimizing accounting procedures for efficiency.
Handle transactions and expense reports with consistency and accuracy in a timely manner.
Maintain confidentiality of organizational information.
Resolve payment discrepancies and disputes on behalf of the company.
Track expenses, prepare analyses of accounts and related financial activity to produce monthly financial reports.
Collaborate with the accounting team to execute financial tasks and ensure the company's financial security.
Assist with audits by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentations.
Maintain electronic records and systems to ensure that information is accurate and easily retrievable.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and vendors.
Requirements
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred or similar years of accounting experience.
Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist, Accounts Payable Clerk or similar role.
Strong knowledge of accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel).
Familiarity with accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in data entry and management.
Problem-solving abilities to reconcile invoice discrepancies.
