Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Principal Construction Estimator to join our team! In this role you will develop, manage, and/or execute estimating activities for large and complex construction projects in Highway / DOT including major bridge construction.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Provide management, guidance, and act as a leader within the estimating team.

  • Lead all estimate scope requirements with specific projects and be completely responsible for all estimated costs for contracted services.

  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of project estimating deliverables and ensures estimates are prepared in accordance with company policies, program requirements, and meet quality control standards.

  • Utilize knowledge in resource skill sets and durations required to prepare and deliver estimates.

  • Review contract documents to determine reasonableness of estimated cost and verifies that all risk and contingencies have been appropriately applied.

  • Participate in detailed estimate and schedule reviews.

  • Contribute to and review schedules based on the estimate.

  • Contribute to and review pre-qualification and technical proposal documents.

  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Ability to manage team of estimators preparing difficult and complex estimating deliverables typical for major bridge construction.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field (or equivalent work experience)

  • Minimum of 10 years of related work experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Must have a clear understanding of, and ability to work with construction contract documents, drawings, and specifications.

  • Familiarity with typical project controls software such as HCSS Heavy Bid, Primavera scheduling software, Estimate/Schedule Transfer tools, Contract Manager, and DMCS (Document and Materials Control System).

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a similar role

  • Advanced degree in management or related field is preferred.

  • Familiarity in estimating variety of major bridge types including arch bridges, cable-stayed bridges, and truss bridges

  • Familiarity with cost estimating related to land-based and marine-based construction.

Salary Range:

$126,600.00 - $227,900.00
