Charles Schwab Institutional Trading Desk- Post Execution Manager in Westlake, Texas

Advisor Services Post Execution is a team of institutional trading professionals who differentiate themselves by combining a passion for service with a deep understanding of trading and post execution.

This position requires individual reps to provide a consultative approach to the trading organization's needs. This is accomplished through proactive communication with internal and external partners, supporting the Equity and Derivatives trade desk(s) in complex scenarios, and managing the needs of our advisors after the trade has executed, including but not limited to - allocations, account moves, cancel/rebills, researching inventory breaks, trade errors, etc.

Responsibilities for the Post Execution Manager include, but not limited to:

  • Provide risk mitigation for multiple products and file trade errors for advisors as needed.

  • Basic competency in entering Equities & Options trades and know when to delegate to partners based on risk levels.

  • First line defense to identify unallocated trade risk.

  • Support daily reporting and reconciliation of inventory accounts.

  • Support daily reporting and reconciliation of all firm block/master trading accounts.

  • Perform historical research for clients associated with errors and allocations.

  • Assist team with company & security research.

  • Build and maintain key relationships with advisors for both problem resolution and influence of business practices.

  • Working knowledge in all internal applications for researching/correcting/adjusting trades and allocations

  • Working knowledge of all channels for allocations and trade submissions from advisors

  • Support on trading and allocation system downtime and technology outages including reporting, escalation, and application of solutions.

  • Support developers with UAT and installation sign-off for internal software applications

  • Provide primary oversight of FINRA Rule 4515 by monitoring and enforcing trade allocations in advisor master accounts.

  • Educate advisors and internal partners regarding master account regulations and help advisors identify solutions to avoid allocation violations.

  • Monitor master accounts for unallocated expiring/exercised/assigned option position risk.

  • Monitor and enforce master and client accounts for short sale violations to comply w/ REG SHO requirements.

  • Facilitate DTC confirm process through CTM knowledge and settlement instructions.

What you have

To ensure that we fulfill our promise of “challenging the status quo,” this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications:

  • FINRA Series 7, 63, 9 and 10 are required .

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

  • At least 3-5 years of financial services industry experience.

  • Multi financial product experience including Equities, Options, Fixed Income, and Mutual Funds.

  • A working knowledge of Trading and Settlement Operations, with back-office experience is a plus.

  • Knowledge of Allocation processes and systems.

  • Knowledge of regulatory environment is a plus.

  • Ability and desire to solve complex trading and settlement issues.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task are critical.

  • Knowledge of Step Out trading and Delivery versus Payment is a plus.

  • Strong customer contact skills, along with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • MS Excel and spreadsheet experience a plus.

  • Must work well in a collaborative team environment, including cross locations.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
