Wells Fargo Infrastructure Engineering Manager - Middleware/File Transfer Operations in WESTLAKE, Texas

In this role, you will:

  • Manage an Infrastructure team of engineers that monitor file transfer systems and infrastructure

  • Manage and develop Infrastructure Engineers in roles with low to moderate complexity and risk

  • Ensure the Information Technology infrastructure is always functioning as effectively as possible

  • Evaluate new software and hardware required to meet a business need or to make a process more effective

  • Define software and hardware standards

  • Identify and recommend opportunities for internal and external software solutions which could be leveraged to meet target state architecture goals

  • Manage the design, installation, and maintenance of infrastructure solutions through collaborative efforts with team members and third party vendor

  • Review high impact outages to ensure the proper processes and procedures are in place to avoid problems in the future

  • Resolve issues to ensure project goals and requirements are met

  • Make decisions and resolve issues regarding infrastructure to meet business objectives

  • Interpret and develop policies and procedures

  • Supervise and lead team in the implementation of technologies and platforms

  • Recommend courses of action to maintain cost effectiveness and competitiveness

  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers

  • Lead team to achieve objectives

  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Infrastructure Engineering

  • Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Infrastructure Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 2+ years of Leadership experience

  • 4+ years of Middleware file transfer experience (SAFET, Axway, Secure Doc Delivery, Connect:Direct)

  • 4+ years of Incident and Change Management, preferably Service Now

  • 4+ years of experience with Enterprise Monitoring, Logging, Observability, and Performance Management

  • Understanding of TLS Certificates, SSH and PGP Keys

  • Understanding of File Transmission Protocols, including SFTP, FTPS, AS2, Connect : Direct, HTTPS

  • 4+ of leadership in issue resolution at scale and across the stack of technology - transport, session, presentation, and application layers

  • 4+ years working closely with Middleware/File Transfer engineers, application architects, application development teams, and infrastructure hosting teams

  • 4+ years of Unix/Linux operating system administration with shell scripting proficiency

  • 4+ years of accomplishment in meeting or exceeding metrics/quotas/KPIs and receiving positive customer feedback.

  • Experience with JIRA or similar customer and issue tracking system

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex technical issues clearly and concisely to a general audience

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on managing to business outcomes through collaboration with multiple internal and external parties.

  • Ability to manage numerous projects and activities simultaneously, ensuring the correct priorities are assigned and initiatives are completed within resource constraints.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with File Transmission Protocols, including SFTP, FTPS, AS2, Connect : Direct, HTTPS

  • 2+ years of Ansible playbook development

  • 4+ years of network, compute, database infrastructure, IT operations

  • Advanced knowledge of technical/business environment and problem determination strategies

  • Experience with Managed File Transfer solutions, Axway Synchrony and Secure Transport

  • Understanding of TLS Certificates, SSH and PGP Keys

  • Basic Database and SQL understanding

Job Expectations:

  • The selected candidate will be a diligent and passionate leader on CTO's Foundational Hosting Operations team, responsible for the operational delivery of Middleware/File Transfer technology at Wells Fargo. The ideal candidate for this role will be an accomplished operational leader and a strong advocate for the customer who embodies the spirt of issue ownership through resolution. Along with other team members, this leader will be responsible to create a compelling and scalable service management experience for customers of the Middleware product portfolio.

  • This position is hybrid and requires an in-office presence several days a week at one of the posted locations
