Summary

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing and maintenance of employee payroll records, taxes and other employee deductions. They resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure that employee payroll is in compliance with Federal and State laws.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the biweekly, weekly or semi-monthly payroll processing cycle.

  • Create, balance, and send biweekly, weekly or semi-monthly general ledger files for SAP posting.

  • Assist field management and HQ departments with payroll inquiries and following through to resolution of the issue.

  • Provide problem resolution for vendor pay card issues for assigned locations.

  • Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of TA “netcalcs” for final pay and missed hours.

  • Reconcile assigned accounts monthly.

  • Audit coworkers’ employee data changes for accuracy.

  • Responsible for the accurate set up of support orders/garnishments with ADP.

  • Responsible for record reconciliation and payroll data.

  • Maintain payroll files.

  • Maintain knowledge of position by attending seminars and training sessions.

  • Complete special projects and other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • High School degree or GED required.

  • Minimum of 1 year payroll processing experience strongly preferred.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

  • Proficient PC/spreadsheet skills required.

  • Knowledge of wage & hour laws and FLSA preferred.

  • Account reconciliation and general ledger experience preferred.

  • Previous hands-on work experience with an HRIS system such as PeopleSoft is desired.

  • Ability to use critical thinking skills in the interpretation of data.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent customer service.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
