1 Job Locations Remote - U.S. Category Legal Overview A Corporate Counsel is responsible for analyzing and providing legal advice with respect to routine, moderately complex and complex legal issues, and engaging with business unit management, vice presidents, C-level executives, external customers, partners and vendors, and outside counsel. A Corporate Counsel is expected to participate in the development of Associate Corporate Counsel through project delegation and coaching. This position provides strategic legal guidance, as well as day to day advice, on employment matters, partnering with the human resources department to manage employee-related legal matters and ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations. What you will be doing Analyze and provide legal advice to Company, management and employees related to routine, moderately complex and complex legal matters, matters presenting moderate levels of legal, business or financial risk and commercial contracts Provide employment law advice to ensure organization complies with labor laws and regulations, managing employee-related legal matters, and partnering with human resources to mitigate legal risks related to the workforce Assist in the development of corporate compliance programs and maintain and administer such programs Select (subject to manager approval) and manage, including budget management, outside counsel related to legal matters handled Coordinate with contract administrators for review of all contracts Delegate legal matters to Associate Corporate Counsel and provide coaching to Associate Corporate Counsel regarding delegated matters Fulfill such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the General Counsel, Assistant General Counsel or Managing Counsel Comply with all corporate and departmental privacy and data security policies and practices, including but not limited to, Hyland's Information Systems Security Policy What will make you successful Juris Doctor Degree (or equivalent) and active law license in Ohio or other applicable jurisdiction Preferred to have 7+ years of relevant legal experience, and at least 2 years of the relevant employment law experience Strong understanding of US employment laws and best practices; general understanding global employment laws preferred Attention to detail, strong administrative skills and ability to work as part of a team Strong proficiency in conducting legal research, gathering and compiling information, drafting commercial contracts and preparing memoranda and other legal communications Strong analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate and develop solutions to complex business problems Strong interpersonal skills Strong negotiation skills Excellent communication skills in writing and speech Excellent skills in MS Office, especially Word and Excel Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the principal duties of the job Based on individual states' employment laws, the following details are to comply with the relevant salary posting requirements: base salary range of $124,000-$155,000 and eligible for benefits What you can expect next Hyland Recruiters thoroughly review every application and will contact you within 1 to 2 weeks regarding next steps.
