This is a position with grade 13 This position reports to Operation Manager-NAM Growth Industries Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as the technical lead for all engineering activities in assignments. Each day, you will ensure the activities related to all engineering disciplines within the project are executed in an efficient and cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by acting as a design authority for a particular engineering discipline and completing the corresponding engineering assignments. The work model for the role is: Remote This role is contributing to the Process Automation Process Industries division. Main stakeholders are IAPI Growth Industries Solutions. You will be mainly accountable for: Collaborating on project installation, commissioning, and site activities, to clarify potential issues or provide solutions to rectify the engineering errors. Coaching the project engineers and designers on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, including modelling, prototyping, and calculations. Work with Account Managers to identify areas where Robotics will be a viable opportunity for our customers. Work with the team (Suppliers, internal factories, engineering teams) to define and create a conceptual design, along with budgetary pricing. Qualifications for the role Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical or chemical engineering required. 7+ years' experience required in: Robotics, AMRs, Mechanic equipment, Configuring PLC software and hardware, Design experience in controls panels, BoM and submittal experience, Supplier management, Proposal definition, Experience in industrial applications. ABB Robotics including Robot Studio or RAPID ABB 800xA, AC800M (Control Builder), AC500 (Automation Builder) and/or Allen Bradley SLC/PLC-5 (RSLogix 500), Control/CompactLogix (RSLogix 5000) programming. ABB Flexley / ASTI AMRs, Sigat or other traffic management software ABB Process Panel/CP600 and/or PanelView line HMI programming. System integration, automation and/or electrical controls design and engineering. Integration of 460VAC and/or 575VAC VFDs and other drive systems into control solutions. Site start up and troubleshooting. Electrical design and/or power distribution experience a definite plus. Knowledge of Food & Beverage, Batteries, Data Centers, Foundries, Cement and Medical Industries Knowledge of Palletization, Material Handling, Automated Warehousing or Furnace Tending a plus Proven technical experience. Project execution experience. Strong organization and planning skills Strong analytical and excellent communication skills Travel: up to a maximum of 25% is expected, including international. Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
