GE Appliances is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Senior Area Sales Manager (ASM) to oversee sales operations in Fairfield, Litchfield, and New Haven Counties in Connecticut, as well as Westchester County, NY. This role is responsible for managing the full sales cycle—from merchandising and pricing strategy execution to sales training and distribution management—while also ensuring exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will build strong relationships with key decision-makers, sales associates, and business stakeholders to drive business growth.

How You'll Create Possibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development:
Sell and promote GE Appliances to both new and existing appliance retail customers, including independent dealers (70% of the territory) and national accounts (30%) such as Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Best Buy.
Identify new business opportunities and develop marketing strategies to expand the territory.
Execute and deliver on sales and margin operating plans to meet or exceed business objectives.
Merchandising & Promotions:
Develop and implement merchandising and promotional strategies to drive sell-through and improve account profitability.
Analyze ROI reports, margin calculations, and delta scenarios to optimize business performance.
Customer & Account Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring a high level of service and satisfaction.
Lead sales training sessions and develop compelling sales materials and presentations.
Act as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, resolving issues efficiently and accurately.
Reporting & Strategy Execution:
Track and report on sales activities, market trends, and goal adherence.
Collaborate with the Senior Director of Contract Sales – Northeast Region to align strategies and drive regional success.
Travel & Event Support:
Travel up to 60% weekly to meet with clients, conduct training, and oversee sales execution.
Occasionally support customer events held in the evenings and weekends.
Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
What You'll Bring to Our Team
Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, preferably in retail, consumer goods, or appliances.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
Ability to work independently from a home office while managing a large territory.
Preferred:
Experience in developing, organizing, and implementing sales plans with measurable success.
Strong relationship-building skills with customers, management, and cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work proactively in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with GE Appliances sales processes, contract quoting, and order entry systems.
Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques.
Prior experience in appliance/retail sales or working with independent retailers.
