Network Engineer

Position Overview:

This highly visible position will be responsible for implementing and supporting the long-term vision for technological direction and evolving Enterprise Architecture. The position will work closely with the Infrastructure Engineering Leadership and other Network Engineers to develop and implement a long-term strategy for the enterprise to ensure the systems and the team are operating at maximum efficiency. The candidate will provide technical leadership on application projects to ensure the application team delivers integrated business and technology solutions that meets the customer’s needs.

The Network Engineer must develop a thorough understanding of the application, supporting infrastructure and business requirements, as well as communicate the long-term Enterprise Architecture vision. Additionally, the Network Engineer must keep up with the current state of IT compute and storage solutions and share that knowledge with peers and application teams. This position reports to the Network Engineering Manager.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in an enterprise environment as a Senior Network Administrator or Network Engineer role with architecture, deployment, and Level-3 troubleshooting experience in the following technologies:

o Cloud Networking Concepts in Azure or AWS with ability to script and deploy

o Automation experience with PowerShell, python or similar tools

o Cisco Nessus and/or Aruba Switching & Routing technologies

o Cisco and/or Palo Alto Firewall & VPN solutions

o F5 and/or A10 Load Balancing solutions

• Solid working knowledge of network communication and routing protocols

• Able to rapidly absorb and implement new technologies, platforms and procedures

• Possess a solid understanding of information security concepts and practices

• Experience with high volume web sites and large scale information solutions

• Participate in on on-call rotation as either primary or secondary engineer

Qualifications:

• Candidate must have a 4-year degree (or equivalent experience) and a minimum of 10 years prior experience in information systems.

• Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with the architecture/DBA/system engineer teams, application teams and clients is required.

• Organization and time management skills are critical.

• Certifications are not required but are an added plus.
