Job Summary

The Process Improvement and Risk Management Coordinator provides assistance by providing specialized administrative support to the Director of QI/RM/PI; assisting with the identification, collection, documenting, quality control, status tracking, and analysis of PI/RM data and information; to include policy and procedures and medical record information.

Essential Duties:

  • Enters all pertinent data into tracking systems as required (input, tracking, retrieval, and analysis)

  • Tracks and ensures maintenance of data and reporting for internal and external purposes

  • Reviews videos of restraint and seclusion, near misses and adverse events with completing the necessary supporting documentation as assigned

  • Assists with managing the Patient Satisfaction Surveys (Inpatient, Outpatient and Partial), analyzing results, developing reports for QAPI and works with the department leaders in improving the overall satisfaction score of the hospital

  • May act as a CPI Instructor - conducts training/retraining, education/reeducation of CPI

  • Assists with collecting, reviewing and submitting of monthly reports, including graphs, analysis, recommendation, feedbacks and suggested action

  • Participant of Workplace Violence, Patient Safety, QAPI and other committees as assigned

  • Effectively manages workload in a high-pressure environment while ensuring attention to detail and strict confidentiality at all times

  • Complies with facility safety, infection control and security program

  • Supports facility internal and external customer service standards

  • Upholds the Organization's ethics and customer service standards

  • Conducts audits as assigned

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Who are we:

Westborough Behavioral Healthcare Hospital (WBHH) provides psychiatric stabilization and dual diagnosis treatments for Adult population in an inpatient settings. Our goal is to ensure patients and their loved ones feel comfortable and are well informed regarding treatment options.

Our state-of-the-art facility is conveniently located in Westborough near the intersection of Route 495 and Route 9. The hospital operates 24/7 with multiple shifts available.

Requirements

Education and/or Licensure

  • A bachelor's degree or license in nursing, counseling, psychology, social work, or a field related to the delivery of mental health services highly required.

Experience

At least one year experience as a mental health worker, case worker, clinician, or social worker in a mental health environment; or a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the above employment standard and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.

Additional Requirements - Must possess or obtain CPI certification within 30 days of hire.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of interviewing and conflict resolution techniques; laws, rules, and regulations applicable to the treatment rights of mentally ill individuals, including Massachusetts civil commitment law and due process rights of consumers of mental health services; rights of patients in institutional and community facilities; ethics and principles of patient or consumer advocacy; and health care administration.

  • Knowledgeable of patient rights and laws pertaining to mental health, medical documentation standards, and policy development procedures.

  • Must have advanced PC skills that include a combination of working in a Windows Operating System and Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

  • Must have excellent written communication skills and be a good listener with a pleasant demeanor that encourages and engages others.

  • Must be able to multi-task, prioritize with strong time management skills.

  • Ability to: collect, record, track, and analyze information, draw logical conclusions, and make sound recommendations; prioritize and organize the work of self; learn and apply practices of supervision, establish and maintain effective working relationships with consumers of mental health services, treatment staff, community organizations, and partners in the legal and policy process surrounding medical documentation, incident reporting, and other hospital-related functions; exercise independent judgement; maintain objectivity and confidentiality; prepare a variety of written documents such as reports and policies; communicate effectively, orally and in writing.

  • Strong attention to detail, documentation knowledge, and retention practice skills.
