Robert Half Collections Specialist in Westborough, Massachusetts

Description

We are seeking a motivated Collection Specialist to join our clients growing organization. In this role, you will be responsible for the collection and resolution of overdue invoices, making daily collections calls to identified accounts, and providing responsive and accurate support to customers. You will counsel customers to establish mutually agreed upon payment schedules and resolve issues to avoid the need for collection agency referrals. Additionally, you will generate aging reports, identify past-due customers, and provide commentary for management review.

Maintaining high customer service standards is essential, as you will interact closely with both our internal sales organization and external customers. You will contribute to building a best practices credit and collections process through excellent service and process improvements. Other responsibilities include preparing billing adjustments, processing refund requests, and collaborating with Sales and Contracts teams to resolve credit issues. You will also monitor payments and follow up promptly, ensuring smooth collections operations. Furthermore, you will serve as backup for both the Billing and Collections Administrator and the Customer Satisfaction Specialist, assisting with invoice preparation, statement sending, and customer issue resolution when needed. This position requires strong initiative, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement in customer service and collections processes.

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with answering inbound calls in a professional manner

• Familiarity with billing functions and processes

• Knowledge and understanding of collection processes

• Prior experience in B2B collections

• Proven track record in managing collections effectively

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
