Job Title: Pharmacy Technician II

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Pharmacy Technician II to join our team in West Sacramento, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for prescription packaging, auditing, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. You will work in a large-scale pharmacy/warehouse environment, handling sensitive information and medications.

Location: West Sacramento, CA

Pay: $22/hr

Shift: 1PM - 9:30PM / Monday - Friday

*Ability to move to Sunday - Thursday depending on business needs

Responsibilities

• Perform prescription packaging, handling HIPAA sensitive information and medication information.

• Utilize handheld scanners for prescription sortation and ensure accurate placement in bins.

• Conduct audits for closed bins, comparing physical and systematic counts, and communicate discrepancies to management.

• Read and analyze application screens and pop-up windows to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.

• Perform chain of custody audits, recording total bins created by location, and ensuring system counts match physical counts.

• Restock workstations with daily supplies and maintain cleanliness by taking out trash, wiping surfaces, and sweeping.

• Perform proof of delivery by recording numbers on shipping labels and verifying accuracy.

Essential Skills

• High School Degree or equivalent experience.

• One year of experience in a warehouse, retail, or customer service setting.

• Basic computer skills.

• Effective communication in a team environment.

• Knowledge of federal and state HIPAA laws.

• Ability to follow oral instructions.

• Capability to perform continuous and repetitive work.

• Ability to perform under stress and make judgments/decisions.

• Ability to switch between tasks efficiently.

• Basic mathematic skills.

• Proficiency in operating a pallet jack, hand truck/dolly, and scanning units.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).

• Experience with auditing, cycle counting, reporting, and general labor.

• Ability to identify and notify supervisors of any missing, lost, or damaged materials.

• Experience with loading/unloading and ensuring merchandise is packed and labeled correctly.

• Experience with scanning labels to ensure accurate shipping destinations.

Work Environment

Work in a large-scale pharmacy/warehouse production environment with exposure to cold conditions in refrigerated areas (5%-7% of the time) and occasional handling of environmentally hazardous medications. The role involves physical activities such as lifting, carrying, stooping, kneeling, reaching, using ladders, and continuous standing and walking.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
