Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Controller in West Palm Beach, Florida. The Assistant Controller will support the Controller in directing the activities of the Accounting Department, with a focus on financial and cost accounting functions. The role involves supervising the Accounting Department, assisting in budget preparations, and financial forecasting, among other duties.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise the Accounting Department, including Accounts Payable, Subcontractor Payables, Payroll, Housing Receivables, job cost, and general ledger accounting

• Assist in preparing the annual Departmental Operating Budgets, Housing Budget, Capital Asset Budget, Land Development Budget, and Cash Flow Budget

• Assist in preparing financial forecasts of projected revenue and profit

• Assist in meeting all monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements of internal and external users

• Assist in directing and overseeing the preparation of Personal Property, Sales and Use, and Real Estate Tax returns

• Design, implement and support procedures that assure compliance with corporate policies

• Work with and provide financial information to internal and external auditors

• Approve expenditures and invoices within established company guidelines

• Work with department managers to ensure consistent application of general ledger accounting and cost coding

• Utilize accounting software systems to optimize accounting functions

• Handle month-end close processes and budgeting-forecasting activities

• Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)

• Conduct audit activities as required.

Skills:

• Knowledge of Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with Accounting Functions

• Understanding of Budget Processes

• Experience with Budgeting - Forecasting

• Ability to manage Month End Close processes. Requirements • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role such as Assistant Controller or related accounting position

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting Functions to support effective financial management

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Proven track record in Auditing, ensuring compliance with financial laws and guidelines

• Familiarity with Budget Processes, including planning, implementation, and review

• Expertise in Budgeting and Forecasting for accurate financial planning

• Experience in Month End Close procedures, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
