Job Overview:

The Director of Human Resources Communications is hybrid and reports to the Vice President of Strategic and Executive Communications at RWJBarnabas Health, with a dotted line to the Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer at RWJBaranabas Health. The Director is an integral member of the Human Resources and Strategic Marketing and Communications Departments, developing and executing one- and two-way strategies to engage employees at all levels and communicate mission-critical messages to all internal audiences across the enterprise in support of the system s mission, vision and values.

Critical to the role is the creation of laser-sharp messaging, digestible communication assets and compelling editorial content to rally employees and physicians around our mission and human resources business goals. The role requires significant teamwork and frequent collaboration and coordination with the system Director of Internal Communications, facility marketing and communication colleagues, and human resource business partners and departments throughout the organization, including members of the Senior Leadership team.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor s degree (BA) in English, communications, journalism, marketing, public relations or related field from an accredited college or university.

  • At least 7 years of diverse work experience, working across sectors, with demonstrated outcomes and increased responsibilities

  • Experience in marketing, communications or related field.

  • Insight and experience in navigating and meeting the communicated needs of a distributed workforce.

  • Must be able to be on-site at corporate headquarters and other system facilities and non-system facilities as business needs dictate.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong, proven supervisory and leadership skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work well with diverse stakeholders.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Experience with Cerkl, WorkFront and Canva preferred.

  • Reliable transportation and valid driver s license required.

  • Willingness and ability to occasionally work non-traditional hours.

Preferred:

  • Master s degree in a related field; or equivalent experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and execute strategies, communication plans and tactics that foster employee and physician engagement with our mission, vision and values; influence employee behavior and drive high performance.

  • Provide support to all areas of Human Resources in the development and execution of internal communications related projects and initiatives, partnering with the HR Leadership Team to translate strategic goals into inspiring messages.

  • Produce communication deliverables and support for various human resources driven system-wide initiatives, including but not limited to culture transformation, annual enrollment, annual employee engagement survey, recruitment, employee recognition, holidays and observances and employee-related change management projects.

  • Serve as project lead and on-site staff for human resources special events and meetings to help with the coordination of visual communications and to be a liaison and support to system leaders.

  • Support internal employee communication initiatives in alignment with the office of the President and Chief Executive Officer as assigned by the Vice President of Strategic and Executive Communications.

  • Track, measure, evaluate and report on the achievements of internal human resources communication goals.

  • Work closely with the system creative team to manage the concept development, layout and final approval of all communication materials.

  • Generate fresh, engaging content and campaigns for various human resources initiatives and communication vehicles, including employee intranet, electronic newsletters, email, digital signage, presentations, talking points, FAQs and briefings.

  • Establish and maintain trusting relationships with Corporate departments, communications and human resources team members.

  • Collaborate with system external communications to ensure message and brand consistency across all constituents.
