A Day in the Life of a Home Equity Sales Manager

The Home Equity Sales Manager leads the solicitation of home equity mortgage products and services by overseeing a team of Home Equity Originators. You will collaborate with the marketing team to drive mortgage leads, provide support for mortgage software and loan structuring, and ensure that all subordinate areas align with Cyprus Credit Union's goals. You will train and motivate staff to meet sales targets, cross-sell credit union products, and resolve any issues that arise promptly and efficiently.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of effective mortgage loan sales strategies.

  • Manage and mentor Home Equity Loan Origination staff to achieve or surpass sales goals.

  • Coordinate training on home equity products for credit union staff, including central lending, call-center, and branch teams.

  • Evaluate and oversee external vendors essential for originating home equity loans.

  • Implement strategies to boost loan volume, including outbound and internal marketing campaigns.

  • Facilitate collaboration between Loan Originators, Central Lending, and Branch Managers to foster a cooperative environment.

  • Ensure mortgage loan applications are tracked and processed efficiently, adhering to policies and legal requirements.

  • Handle complex loan functions and work closely with operations staff to address any challenges.

  • Provide leadership, conduct training, evaluate staff, and ensure personnel are well-utilized and performing at their best.

    Qualifications

Education/Certification

  • A degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience is also accepted.

Required Knowledge

  • Solid understanding of real estate lending, mortgage loan origination, and industry regulations.

Experience

  • At least two years of experience in real estate lending or similar positions. Management experience is preferred.

Skills/Abilities

  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills to train, motivate, and coach staff.

  • Ability to work independently, meet sales and service goals, and adapt to changes quickly.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and mortgage software.

  • Positive attitude, leadership skills, and a strong network in the mortgage industry.
