Job Title: Software Quality Assurance Leader
Overview: Join our Information Technology department as a Software Quality Assurance Leader, where you will drive the development and execution of innovative testing strategies to guarantee top-tier software quality. This pivotal role involves shaping comprehensive test plans, conducting thorough testing processes, analyzing results, and overseeing external staffing contracts for staff augmentation. You will lead a dynamic team of managers and skilled test engineers, cultivating a culture of excellence and continuous improvement in software testing methodologies. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams-Engineering, Production Deployment, Operations, and Quality Assurance-you will play a vital role in enhancing the reliability of our software solutions.

People Management:
Collaborate with leadership to set and communicate team objectives and performance benchmarks.

Functional Duties:
Establish and uphold quality standards, ensuring rigorous testing and material evaluations.
Design and enforce inspection standards for both in-process and finished products.
Collaborate on product and process designs, setting reliability benchmarks.
Maintain adherence to quality assurance policies and regulatory requirements.
Develop and manage quality documentation and reports through data analysis.
Create and implement comprehensive test strategies for complex systems.
Oversee testing activities, ensuring seamless integration of all solution components.
Identify and communicate testing risks, contributing to mitigation strategies.
Partner with engineering teams to provide test results and address issues promptly.
Innovate and enhance QA programs, integrating them into project lifecycles.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Direct oversight of 8-12 managers and individual contributors.
Indirect management of 20-25 functional and specialty testers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; minimum of 8 years in quality assurance for complex hardware and software products.
Proven leadership experience required.
Expertise in establishing quality standards, tools, and methodologies.
In-depth knowledge of QA processes, including end-to-end system testing.
Experience in managing Time & Material (T&M) and Managed Service Model (MSM) contracts.
Skills and Abilities:
Organizational Skills: Exceptional time management and multi-project handling abilities. Communication Skills: Professional oral and written communication skills, capable of engaging diverse groups. Technical Proficiency: strong PC skills with extensive QA tools knowledge (e.g., JIRA, QTest). Establishes and Enforces Quality Standards: Defines and maintains quality standards for products and processes through testing and materials evaluation.
Develops and Implements Inspection Standards: Creates and enforces in-process and finished product inspection standards and testing methods.
Collaborate on Product and Process Design: Works with management, engineers, and technicians to establish product and reliability standards, and contributes to new product designs.
Maintains Product Quality: Ensures ongoing compliance with quality assurance policies, procedures, and governmental requirements.
Quality Documentation and Reporting: Develops, updates, and manages quality assurance procedures and documentation, and prepare quality reports by analyzing data.
Manages Test Strategies and Plans: Develops, documents, and executes comprehensive test strategies and plans for complex multi-system projects.
Oversees Test Activities: Manages and track testing from functional to full end-to-end system testing, ensuring all solution elements work together seamlessly.
Communicates and Mitigates Risks: Analyzes and communicates risks and impacts of testing results and provides input on mitigation plans.
Supports Engineering Teams: Collaborates with engineering teams by providing test results and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
Develops and Improves QA Programs: Creates and matures strategic QA policies, tools, methodologies, and initiatives, and ensures they are integrated into the project lifecycle.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
