Wells Fargo CPG Category Vendor Manager - Lead Business Execution Consultant in WEST DES MOINES, Iowa

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Category Vendor Manager (Lead Business Execution Consultant) to join our team. This role will report to the Category Management Leader and be responsible for the following:

In this role, you will:

  • Provide strategic vision and management of Corporate Property Group's (CPG's) centrally managed categories in regard to risk mitigation, cost and quality.

  • Provide general oversight and coordination for vendor lifecycle for assigned centrally managed CPG's centrally managed category vendors from initial contact, due diligence, contract/negotiations, performance/service, billing, payment and termination activities in coordination with the supply chain management, third party due diligence teams, property management, accounting, and any other potential touchpoints of the vendor engagement. Includes coordinated communications to vendor network with appropriate legal and communications contacts.

  • Strategize and lead conversations with property management, sourcing, and senior leadership on risk mitigation, pricing and quality initiatives at a region level.

  • Develop category and vendor scorecards that effectively report critical KPIs for risk, cost and quality across CPG's centrally managed categories and present to senior leadership to help monitor key risks as well as inform and drive decision making.

  • Engage and participate in contract development with sourcing for assigned categories and ensure appropriate KPIs and critical requirements included in contracts for CPG's centrally managed category vendors.

  • Responsible for monitoring spend for assigned categories and coordinating with finance, property management and sourcing for accurate expense forecasts and explain forecast variances to senior leadership.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendor account representatives for CPG's centrally managed categories.

  • Provide oversight and feedback to CPG's centrally managed category vendors on established scorecards and invoice audits based on established goals.

  • Lead cross functional teams to strategize, plan, and execute a variety of programs, services and initiatives

  • Drive accountability for assigned initiatives, limit risk exposure, and create efficiencies as appropriate

  • Review strategic approaches and effectiveness of support function and business performance

  • Perform assessments through fact finding and data requiring creative approaches to solving complex issues, and develop appropriate solutions or recommendations

  • Make decisions in highly complex and multifaceted situations requiring solid understanding of business group's functional area or products, facilitate decision making and issue resolution, and support implementation of developed solutions and plans

  • Collaborate and consult with members of the Business Execution team and team leaders to drive strategic initiatives

  • Influence, guide and lead less experienced Strategy and Execution staff within the group

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong vendor management skills

  • Superior project management skills including the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Solid negotiation skills and the ability to facilitate agreements across a project team

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills

  • A BS/BA degree or higher

  • Tableau experience

  • 5 years relevant work experience in one or a combination of the following: vendor management, analytics/finance, strategic planning, implementation and the ability to manage and oversee processes and day to day transactions as needed.

  • Understanding of basic accounting and strong financial forecasting skills

  • Understanding of basic contracts and supply chain management activities

  • Significant experience working closely with senior and executive leadership.

  • Possesses executive presence, high energy, ability to manage complexity and a broad scope of daily work activities and stakeholders.

  • Ability to create a strong collaborative work environment to successfully develop partnerships.

  • Ability to manage effectively within a matrixed organization.

  • Exhibits the right balance of confidence and humility through exceptional listening skills.

  • Strong collaborator and empathetic listener who works with diverse groups to solicit multiple perspectives.
