Robert Half Direct Buyer Specialist in West Des Moines, Iowa

Description We are in search of a Direct Buyer Specialist to be a part of our team in San Diego, California. This role involves managing major responsibilities across multiple supply chain disciplines, and handling supply chain activities that span several disciplines. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and organize all aspects of product manufacturing and distribution related to the acquisition of materials and services.

• Provide expertise to one or more Supply Chain disciplines in implementations and process execution.

• Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate procurement and shipment of supplies.

• Assist in gathering information on new vendors, sources, market, current processes, and prices.

• Provide inputs based on issues faced in day-to-day operations.

• Execute approved initiatives under the guidance of a supervisor.

• Address general queries from internal and external stakeholders.

• Adhere to import, export, and excise regulations as per compliance.

• Work with limited supervision to achieve day-to-day objectives impacting supply chain strategies and operational goals.

• Make minor changes or enhancements to supply chain management processes and systems.

• Explain policies, practices, and procedures to other functions to support Supply Chain Strategy. Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook

• Experience in handling materials and understanding their shipping functions

• Familiarity with procurement processes and practices

• Ability to review and implement strategies

• Demonstrated skills in negotiation and managing vendors

• Proven track record in project management

• Understanding of regulations and compliance related to procurement

• Experience in executing purchase orders

• Knowledge of financial notes and their implications

• Ability to plan and supervise operations

• Experience in implementing procedures and policies

• Skills in managing stakeholders effectively

• Proficiency in pricing and understanding market trends

• Ability to handle training related tasks effectively

• Experience with supervising teams or individuals is highly desirable
