Job Description Summary

The GE Aerospace Engineer demonstrates accountability for functional and team objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in short-term project planning, and contribute to the overall team goals.

The GE9X Combustor Module Services Hardware Owner role will build and leverage multiple skill sets including project execution, technical leadership, analysis, design, and hardware ownership. You will lead combustor hardware design and product improvement activities focusing on durability, services and repair activities.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical engineering for all products

  • Developing conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area.

  • Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understands how work of own team contributes to the area.

  • Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.

  • Collaborates with others to solve issues. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Exchanges technical information asks questions and checks for understanding.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 1 year of engineering experience

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
