TEKsystems Network Operations Support Technician in West Bend, Wisconsin

Job Title: Network Operations Support Technician

Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, Tuesday - Saturday

Description: We are seeking a proactive and skilled Network Operations Technician to join our NOC team on the 2nd shift. This role involves working closely with other technicians and NOC Engineers, handling escalation calls from the service desk, and ensuring the stability and optimal performance of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor all supported platforms according to established routines.

  • Ensure stable operating environments and maximize system utilization.

  • Operate and monitor console systems and peripheral equipment such as printers and disk devices.

  • Perform routine technical procedures, including adding and running ad hoc jobs in the Enterprise Job Scheduler, user administration, participating in disaster recovery exercises, and conducting code promotions.

  • Handle first-level support calls to assist the Service Desk.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation.

Severity Levels for Escalations:

  • Severity 1: Immediate escalation to on-call.

  • Severity 2: Ops action required based on the procedure referenced in the alert. If unresolved, escalate to Severity 1.

  • Severity 3: Ops action required based on the procedure referenced in the alert. No call placed regardless of the outcome.

  • Severity 4: Ticket creation, no further escalation.

Required Skills:

  • Experience with Windows 10, job scheduling, mainframe operations, Active Directory, NOC center operations, help desk technical support, Control M, batch processing, escalation calls, ServiceNow, O365, Azure, virtual machines, and SolarWinds.

Top Skills:

  • Previous help desk support experience with ticketing systems (ServiceNow).

  • Proficiency with O365, Control M, batch processing, and virtual machines.

  • Previous NOC experience with the ability to identify and resolve or escalate specific issues.

Additional Information: The ideal candidate will be proactive and able to work independently after training. Flexibility in shifts may be required during the training period.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
