West Parish Family School EEC Licensed Infant/Toddler Teacher in West Barnstable, Massachusetts

Teaching Duties Work with the Lead Teacher or Director to implement curriculum units from age appropriate resource materials. Provide activities and experiences that adhere to EEC guidelines. Follow the Mass. Standards for Preschool Learning (pre-school) &/or the Creative Curriculum (toddlers) Work with the Lead Teacher or Director to plan activities that will address the developmental needs of children. These should include gross and fine motor development, art, music, science, and literature as well as opportunities for dramatic play and free choice activities. Provide a good balance between teacher directed and child initiated activities in a warm, nurturing atmosphere with consistent rules and structure. Offer formal and informal times for children to develop language skills. Work with the Lead teacher to implement prayers into the daily plans. Follow planned calendar for enrichments of Science, Music, Bible songs & stories, & others as scheduled. Child Assessment (1.5 hours paid per student assessed, twice annually) At the request of the Lead Teacher or Director: Meet with each parent in November and May to discuss the child\'s progress and to present a written progress report, Maintain monthly anecdotal records for each child to highlight development in each of the developmental areas. (Fine and gross motor, social/emotional, cognitive) Communication Daily with Teacher, Director and team members. Monthly during scheduled faculty meetings. At the request of the Director or lead teacher, daily \"notes\" to parents on Brightwheel and daily informal conversations. Monthly newsletter for families, acknowledging student birthdays, enrichments & special events. Send a brief blurb for the Rooster Crows Newsletter (may include a photo) regarding what students are doing/learning for church members to stay informed. At the request of the director or lead teacher, twice yearly at scheduled parent conferences. As needed through requested parent conference.
