Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant on Long Island to join our team. This position offers an employment opportunity within the accounting industry where you will be tasked with maintaining the financial health of our organization. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing account reconciliations, fixed assets, balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliations, accruals and more.

Responsibilities:

• Perform account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.

• Handle balance sheet reconciliation and bank reconciliations.

• Manage fixed assets, tracking existing assets, and accounting for the depreciation.

• Oversee accruals and ensure all financial data is up-to-date.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel to organize financial data and create reports.

• Navigate accounting systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP.

• Assist in month end close procedures.

• Handle general ledger tasks and prepare journal entries.

• Leverage your skills in multi-state sales tax, where applicable.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Sr. Accountant with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with financial software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP

• Proficient in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations

• Familiarity with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

• Experience in creating journal entries and managing the general ledger

• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
