Job Summary

As the Assistant Rooms manager you will manage the day to day operation of hte front desk, guest services and reservation teams with assistance in the housekeeping supervision. Position strives to ensure guest satisfaction, room cleanliness and overseeing reservation duties. You will manage front desk employee relations, hiring, scheduling and covering all needed shifts. Will assist in managing all other day to day responsibilities for rooms division.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the daily operation of the front desk, coordinating with other departments as required to manage guest satisfaction.

  • Manages day-to-day operation of the front desk by ensuring staffing, service and financial standards are met.

  • Handles guest compliments, complaints and concerns in an appropriate fashion to ensure guest satisfaction and fiscal responsibility.

  • Prepares staffing schedules, training, maintaining department payroll reports, vacations, holidays, sick leave, and absence records.

  • Assists with interviewing candidates, performance reviews, and manages performance as required.

  • Understand function and can fill in on all rooms department needs including: night audit, reservations, front desk and housekeeping.

  • Assist in inventory control, compliance adherence and safety procedures and handles employee concerns.

  • Supervises front desk budget with Director of Rooms, oversees pricing, room rates, billing and same day selling procedures.

  • Assist in inspecting rooms when needed and assist in housekeeping department.

Qualifications:

  • 2 or 4 year degree preferred in business, finance or hospitality management

  • Progressive experience working in hotels and hospitality industry with minimum of 2 years guest service, front desk, housekeeping experience

  • Opera knowledge preferred

  • Previous management experience preferred
