The Manager, Actuarial is accountable for development of actuarial analyses, with a focus on either pricing or reserving, in accordance with CAS (Casualty Actuarial Society) principles. Additionally, the Manager, Actuarial must monitor the Actuarial Analyst and Actuary positions activities to ensure the timely and accurate completion of those analyses and related projects. The analyses will materially contribute to the overall performance of the actuarial area and the organization.

While much of the work to perform this evolution will be delegated, the Manager, Actuarial is accountable to ensure that the changes are made in a timely and accurate manner. The Manager, Actuarial will also convince both internal and external stakeholders of the correct actions to be taken as a result of the analyses.

While managing the implementation, the Manager, Actuarial will be responsible for knowing the implications of the changes and being able to communicate them to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a smooth transition.

As team members will require a significant amount of knowledge and skills to carry out the analyses, the Manager, Actuarial will provide training and/or other sources of knowledge (internal or external) as necessary. To the extent that team members have a desire to advance toward CAS credentials or a management position, the Manager, Actuarial should provide support and/or training as needed.
