Why do we need you ?
The Manufacturing Unit Leader - Forming will oversee the forming manufacturing unit, ensuring the smooth operation and continuous improvement of processes, quality, and safety. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day activities and driving mid-to-long-term strategic improvements in the unit. The Manufacturing Unit Leader will report to the Zone Leader and will have direct reports, including production supervisors, leads, and process engineer. Additionally, the role includes dotted-line management of support functions such as Quality, Maintenance, Planning, Customer Service.Essential functions include:- Leadership & Management: Lead and manage the manufacturing unit to achieve production targets, ensuring optimal utilization of resources. Supervise and develop production supervisors, leads, and process engineers to foster a high-performance culture. Promote exemplary leadership and state-of-the-art EHS practices within the unit. Develop and coach his/her direct and indirect team, discuss career path, perform gap analysis and oversee training program to secure a successful employee journey and business performance.- Operational Excellence: Ensure day-to-day operations run efficiently across three shifts, five days a week. (Participate to PCS meetings) Implement and oversee continuous improvement initiatives, including World Class Manufacturing (WCM) projects, to enhance productivity and quality. Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, flows, and transactions.- Quality and Safety: Maintain high standards of product quality and adherence to safety regulations. Collaborate with Quality Engineers to implement quality control measures and ensure compliance with industry standards and Management systems. Drive a safety-first culture, ensuring all safety protocols and procedures are followed.- Strategic Planning and Development: Develop mid-to-long-term strategic plans to drive unit growth and efficiency. Identify opportunities for innovation and technological advancements within the manufacturing process. Collaborate with the Zone Leader to align unit objectives with organizational goals. Prepare operational plans and budgets and reports to appropriate Management on actual performance vs. plan.

Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical...)- Master's degree- 8+ years' experience working in a production/manufacturing environment- 5+ years' experience in a leadership role within a production/manufacturing environment managing, coaching and leading direct reports- 5+ years' experience in lean manufacturing, six sigma or WCM type methodologies- Strong communication and interpersonal skills- Proficient in ERP systems, Excel/PowerPoint and BI tools- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities- Strong leadership and team management skills- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems / Certification environment- Experience managing and working with outside contractors and vendors to ensure the overall safety of the facility.- Knowledge of predictive and preventative maintenance to ensure efficient and safe operation of machinery and equipment- Understanding Basic Finance and cost structure / P&L- Continuous improvement methodologies (Incl. 5S, Kaizen, SMED...)Preferred Qualifications:- PMP Certification- Green Belt / Black Belt (6 Sigma or WCM)
