From your PASSION to ours:

The General Labor position provides support to production primarily in the parmesan and dinners departments in the processing and packaging of cheese. General Laborers are trained in and rotated through a variety of positions who are responsible for such tasks as: break relief, preparing ingredients, dumping product into the hopper, observing and reporting moisture levels, product inspection, printing tickets, supplying lines with materials, performing sanitation, using a hand truck/ pallet jack, using a computer, keeping accurate records and similar supporting duties. General Laborers also hold upgrades for positions in higher classifications and earn at higher rates while working in that capacity.

From your EXPERTISE to ours:

Key responsibilities for this position include:

· Press switches and turn knobs to start, adjust, and regulate equipment such as hoppers, impact wrenches, conveyors and hand trucks.

· Become familiar with the set up and operation of all required equipment.

· Observe and listen to equipment to detect possible malfunctions, such as rubbing, binding or plugging up, and report malfunctions to the Team Leader or Maintenance. Understand screen/ magnet checks and equipment inspections. Report water/ hydraulic/ equipment leaks.

· Accurate and Timely SAP entries.

· Complete Sanitation as needed.

· Work in a team-based environment.

· Familiar with Quality programs as outlined in QRMP such as GMP’s, Traceability, HACCP, Allergens, CCP, hold process and verifying raw ingredients.

· Perform other duties as directed by plant leadership as needed for efficient operations.

· When proficient train employees.

Requirements

From your STORY to ours:

Education and Experience

· High School Diploma/GED

· At least 1 yr. previous manufacturing experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Previous food manufacturing experience a plus

· Use of motorized hand truck/ pallet jack is required (training provided)

· Use of fork truck (PIT) is required (training provided)

· Must wear PPE (ear protection, steel-toed shoes, bump cap/ hard hat, sanitation gear, face mask)

· Must be dedicated to personal safety and food safety
