Generac Power Systems Senior Operations Project Manager in Waukesha, Wisconsin

The Senior Project Manager Operations serves as a dynamic change agent and aggressively executes strategic facility planning, make vs. buy evaluation, business improvement & new product introduction (NPI) projects. The position will be responsible for supporting and executing the strategic planning of multiple Generac Facility projects as well as overseeing the coordination of personnel and resources required to successfully complete these projects.

Essential Duties:

  • Provide project management support for activities related to corporate infrastructure/space planning, business continuity planning, cross-functional change initiatives;

  • Lead and manage multiple projects by managing to scope, cost, quality, communication of project status, root cause analysis and escalation management;

  • Tracks progress and reviews project tasks to ensure successful completion of assigned project phases within the budgeted time and cost constraints; makes certain that deadlines are met.

  • Assesses project issues and identifies solutions to meet project goals.

  • Proactively communicates project status, issues and risks to executive management.

  • Conducts regular status meeting with executive sponsors keeping their needs and requirements continuously in view

  • Understand technical, operational, management and sales related issues of customers and staff;

  • Work with quality organization to implement activities on planning processes to assist facility leaders with delivering key milestones in the program;

  • Support team in departmental communications, planning, budgets and executive meeting preparation and follow-up;

  • Prepare project status reports by collecting analyzing and summarizing information and trends.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Industrial Technology or equivalent experience;

  • 7 years of progressive Operations management experience in similar work environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Ability to work with diverse personalities while remaining tactful, professional and flexible;

  • Ability to work with large volumes of process data and statistical methods; Effective verbal and written communication skills;

  • Ability to successfully manage shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast paced environment;

  • Demonstrated coaching and mentoring ability.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence teams and individuals cross-functionally;

  • Proven customer service orientation;

  • Proven ability to deliver quality improvements/ problem solving using the 8D/DMAIC/PDCA phase methodologies and supporting tools;

  • Demonstrated understanding of financial measurements and goals in the Lean enterprise; Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Minitab, SPC and data analysis skills;

  • Ability to communicate Executive Sponsor requirements to appropriate team members;

Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
