Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Machine Operator (Welding / Fabrication) - 2nd Shift to join our team on Badger Dr. in Waukesha, WI!

The hourly rate for this position is $24.50 per hour + $2.50/hr shift premium.

The core hours are 3 pm - 11 pm. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times.

This position is offering a sign-on bonus of $2,000* paid in two installments, less applicable withholding .

What you’ll do:

The Machine Operator (Fabrication) sets-up and operates the shearing, fin forming and welding operation of the corrugate machine. The Operator works from daily release sheet, production orders, blueprints and special instructions from supervisor or Group Leader. You will be responsible for machine set-ups and program editing. Plasma Arc TIG welding process involved. Work involves exposure to smoke, fumes, weld flashes, and burns and cuts.

In this function, you will:

  • Coordinate the daily release and sequences the release in the most efficient manner for production.

  • Unload coil steel from trucks. Locates material with proper identification attached and turn receiving paperwork into office.

  • Load coils on reel and threads coil from payoff reel.

  • Make appropriate tooling changes to set up machine, making necessary operating adjustments.

  • Activate machine for programmed cycle, enters program sequences for omitted or non-programmed special runs, and clears machine when malfunctions occur.

  • Oversee operation of automated Thermal Arc Plasma welding units. Changing out consumables and making necessary adjustments to equipment and gases.

  • Check finished pieces against print for correct forming and welding specifications.

  • Reband and unload any unused coils.

  • Unload finished pieces and store properly.

  • Perform repair work on finished product if needed.

  • Oversee the inventory of supplies for the work center.

  • Dispose of all scrap steel into dumpsters outside of building..

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Must have completed High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of 1 year of welding experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience

  • Associates degree and/or a Technical Diploma in welding from an accredited institution.

  • Experience in weld inspection

Skills:

  • Successfully complete Eaton’s weld test (TIG).

  • Must be able to read blueprints and use various measuring devices (tape measure, square, etc.).

  • Must be familiar with various metal forming, cutting, and welding equipment.

  • Ability to work overtime when required.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 LBS; bend, twist, grab, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, use both hands to lift and lower materials, and perform all other essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
