Generac Power Systems Director Global Supply Chain in Waukesha, Wisconsin

Our Director Global Supply Chain (MTS) is an integral operation partner providing leadership on standard processes to improve customer fulfillment, total cost of Primary Working Capital, ERP technology and operating costs. This role is responsible for driving business solutions and practices utilizing GENERAC’s Operating Model to develop a demand driven pull based replenishment Supply Chain approach in an MTS environment. The Director Global Supply Chain MTS will organize and implement strategic initiatives and standardized approaches in Material Flow, Tactical Purchasing, and Production Scheduling including SIOP utilizing a Global ERP system (SAP). The position will drive product segmentation using ABCXYZ classifications to reduce lead times and improve productivity.

Success in this role is defined by driving significant step function changes in global Supply Chain in the MTS environment utilizing processes with demonstrated savings. This will be measured by ongoing improvements in fill rate, working capital and material margins (total cost of ownership).

This role can be based out of the following locations, Whitewater WI, Jefferson WI or Waukesha WI

  • Lead and improve Inventory Management best practices utilizing Plan for Every Part (PFEP), ABCXYZ Analysis, Purchasing Methods (SMI, Pull, Reorder Point, Visual Management), Warehouse Management (Cycle Count Accuracy, Transactions, Bar Coding, RFID),Lean Material Flow (Direct Pull, Supermarkets, Tuggers, Kanban and point of use delivery) and production scheduling (level scheduling, optimizers, WIP markets, Heijunka)

  • Help define and deploy GENERAC’s disciplined operating model in supply chain that supports operational excellence and both short-term and long range plans

  • Improve Tactical Purchasing in conjunction with GENERAC’s Strategic Global Sourcing team to reduce lead times and improve material margins through Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) model.

  • Leads processes to ensure continuity of supply throughout the operations to achieve uninterrupted supply of quality components and assemblies.

  • Works with corporate Global Supply Chain on strategic design and initiatives

  • Implement Lean supplier replenishment along with pull based material flow within facilities

  • Implement standard supply chain processes across all facilities

  • Eliminate waste within the Supply Chain process

  • Organizes and prioritizes work assignment to complete assignments/tasks on time, with quality, and has the ability to anticipate problem areas in advance. Applies create problem approaches and ideas to solve problems for area of responsibility.

  • Work with Demand Planning/Management using a One Number Plan approach and methodology to align financial, operation and material plans (SIOP), executing direct pull when possible and forecast lead times when not.

  • Ensure Supply Chain synchronized with Production Execution capabilities to maximum efficiencies and lowest cost of operation within a Make To Stock distribution model.

  • Reduce the lead times for external supply while improving the internal flow of material

  • Continuously assess and build strong teams in Supply Chain across all MTS SC facilities

  • Accountable for defining resource needs and works within budget and staffing parameters to accomplish objectives for area of responsibility

  • Develop and challenge resources to improve performance through systems utilization and process improvements

  • Develop teams from a push-based system to a pull-based replenishment

  • Collaborate with site Director of OPS on strategy and team development

  • Provides and facilitates communication/interactions amongst team members, between teams and other areas. Resolves differences and/or conflict situations effectively.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (preferably Engineering, Business or Industrial);

  • 10 years progressive Supply Chain leadership experience

  • 5 years leading in multi-site lean manufacturing environment utilizing Make To Stock fulfillment models

  • Strong Lean background in pull based supplier replenishment, Production scheduling and materials management.
