POSITION SUMMARY:

The AYCC is looking for... a ninja? We are looking for someone who is proficient in obstacle courses and looking to be involved in the community. This person would be developing, implementing, and running quality programs for our NinjAdventure Zone. The Lead NinjAdventure Zone Coach would be working with staff to engage the public with programs that encourage them to be healthy and have fun!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Serve as Head Coach of Ninja Adventure
  • Organize and conduct practice workouts that are developmentally appropriate, well organized, and build progression throughout the course of the season.
  • Organize the teaching/training of individual participants on technique (i.e., climbing, strength, and safe falls).
  • Develop a team culture that is focused on Youth Development, which rewards effort and commitment, not just results.
  • Assist participants in developing, evaluating, and achieving goals.
  • Schedule, organize, and administer sessions. Make sure all paperwork is completed and submitted on time.
  • Work with NinjAdventure Zone parents to attain fundraising objectives to support Ninja teams or equipment necessities.
  • Develop and implement Ninja participant recruitment and retention strategies, to include direct involvement in publicity and press releases, frequent team tryout/placement events. Prepare and analyze enrollment trends.
  • Maintain team equipment in working order and ensure that all assets are well kept.
  • Serve as Lead Coach for any AYCC Ninja teams that may transpire over time.
  • Organize and conduct practice workouts that are developmentally appropriate, well organized, and build progression throughout the course of the season.
  • Work closely with other coaches to coordinate schedules and share best practices for training and coaching.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians and provide updates on participant progress and address any concerns.
