Enercept, Inc. Project Estimation and Purchasing Administrator in Watertown, South Dakota

*[Summary: [The Project Estimation and Purchasing Administrator is a non-exempt position and will take ownership of the day-to-day responsibilities of purchasing materials and pricing of Enercepts projects. This position will be responsible for managing inventory levels and supplies related to production schedules while meeting quality, cost, on-time delivery requirements. This is in association with preparing precise cost estimates on projects for customers, dealers and builders in a timely manner to support the sales process. In association with estimating, good communication is required to relay information and answer questions that may arise. *[Essential Functions: [To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Knowledge of building and construction techniques and requirements.
  • Knowledge of building codes, engineering information, and technical data such as load charts.
  • Knowledge of SIP manufacturing and the materials used in the manufacturing process.
  • Analyze drawings and other documentation to prepare cost estimates.
  • Assist with calls from customers or dealer/builders as needed.
  • Confer with engineers, architects, owners, and contractors to assure accuracy.
  • Informs immediate supervisor of any inaccuracies.
  • Keep and up-to-date pricing spreadsheet which reflects current and indirect cost.
  • Complete and save pricing worksheets to determine the price for panel system and accessory items from plans or sketches supplied by Regional Sales Managers or customer.
  • Follow approved estimating practices consistent with company procedures.
  • Provides complete and accurate estimates or proposals for each project.
  • Utilizes Microsoft Office programs to help complete cost estimates and proposals.

Build and maintain a positive rapport with current and new suppliers. Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers.

Negotiate the best supplier terms, pricing, and delivery based on specific budget and production schedule requirements. Develop new supply sources.

Buy all inventory items in a timely fashion. Have an awareness of transportation issues regarding deliveries.

Responsible for issuing Purchase Orders for all materials.

Balance cost of material with quality of material, quality first.
