Description

Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work - 40 hours per week; flexible to the needs of the program

Qualifications - AA/AS Degree in Human Service or production related program and one year of experience in production/manufacturing facility; OR High School Diploma with 2 years of experience in production/manufacturing facility. Experience working with people with disabilities and supervisory experience preferred. NYS Driver’s license required.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance - Authorized to work in the United States and pass all background clearances.

Summary/Objective - Coordinate production including participation in ordering materials, prioritizing orders, ensuring deadlines are met. Work closely with NYSID, Source America, and all customers, conducting oneself in a friendly and professional manner. Ensure regular and ongoing maintenance of all production equipment and tools.

Essential Functions - Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Assist with orientating new staff to their specific tasks on the production floor.

  • Ensure all regulatory issues, as they effect the production environment, are adhered to.

  • Participate in team meetings as needed.

  • Monitor production flow and establish tracking systems.

  • Provide production status reports as requested.

  • Identify and resolve production problems.

  • Assist in cost analysis of workshop program as requested.

  • Encourage elimination of waste materials.

  • Assist supervisors with production flow problems (need for workers, manufacturing issues, etc.)

  • Assist in setting up new manufacturing contracts.

  • Assist with workload during the day and/or in a supervisor’s absence.

  • Ensure safety awareness is maintained.

  • Attend trainings/seminars as designated by Administrator of Vocational Services

  • Other duties as requested.

  • Perform or ensure that a daily safety inspection of your site(s) is conducted to minimize and address any possible safety hazards, and to ensure all equipment is being utilized safely and properly.

  • Attend and satisfactorily complete all required in-services.

  • Paycom time off requests and time card approval for direct reports.

  • Complete annual performance evaluations for direct reports.

  • Complete training and certification for operation of forklift.

  • Ensure all OSHA regulations are adhered to.

  • Ensure fire extinguishers are maintained, all fire equipment is in good working order and regular fire drills are performed.

  • Perform regular inventory on all production materials and complete any ordering for these supplies.

  • Monitor all machinery for safety concerns, troubleshoot as necessary.

  • Participate in interview process of potential employees.

  • Participate in site tours, audits and customer and vendor communications.

    Supervisory Responsibility - Supervise Production Supervisors and Production Workers

    Travel - Minimal travel between Jefferson and St. Lawrence expected.

    Work Environment - This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; lift; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Work may require lifting, pushing, or pulling in excess of 30 pounds.
