About the Role

Influences successful business outcomes in order to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income and free cash flow for new and continuing programs. Provides business, contractual and risk mitigation strategy guidance. Protects the interest of the company by understanding and interpreting contractual terms and conditions. Utilizes working knowledge of regulations including Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), FAR supplements (e.g. DFARS) and other agency regulations. Analyzes significant and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations and corporate policies and procedures. Manages the contractual review of solicitations, proposal development, contract change control process and overall contract administration. Establishes and maintains primary contractual interface with the customer. Maximizes cash through innovative contract formation and negotiation to achieve business objectives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for RFP / RFQ review and risk assessment, proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contract activities for assigned contracts/programs

  • Provides a proactive voice in the business process

  • Provides proper contract guidance and ownership in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications

  • Coordinate the acceptance of new contracts/purchase orders, complete customer acknowledgements and prepare and conduct negotiations as required

  • Identify significant terms and conditions issues and resolve with senior contracts staff

  • Perform or coordinate Order Entry tasks in ERP system

  • Liaise and correspond with Finance, banks, and customers with respect to letters of credit and guarantees

  • Negotiate, prepare and submit documents in compliance with the LOC/LOG requirements

  • Ability to think critically, problem solve and work independently

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work in a team environment

  • Ability to multi-task and determine priorities while working on multiple assignments

  • Dedication to meet customer deadlines

  • Ability to negotiate contract terms and conditions with commercial and US Government customers

  • Advises management of contractual rights and obligations

  • Ability to clearly present information to broad audience, inclusive of management

    Required Capabilities

  • Proficient understanding of regulations for Government procurements (SAAC, FAR, DFARS, DEFCONS, etc.)

  • Sound understanding of financial and business risks related to terms and conditions

  • Demonstrated ability to work flexibly with customer focus and courtesy amid frequent interruptions

  • Must have good communication skills, quality commitment, customer focus, strong interpersonal skills, and adaptability

  • Must be professional, accessible, and flexible to the changing needs of the department and must be a team player

  • Self-starter; willing to find solutions when set process is not readily available

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Comprehensive experience with MS Office O365.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and effectively balance priorities to meet deadlines

  • Team player attitude with a high sense of urgency to respond to time-sensitive issues

  • Fast learner of new skills and information, open minded and pragmatic, adaptable to change

    Desired Education and Experiences

  • Requires proficient knowledge of job area.

  • May have practical knowledge of project management

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.

  • Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience .

  • French and / or Arabic language an asset
