Overview

This position determines appropriate facility placement for incarcerated individuals and schedules transports as necessary to support appropriate bed utilization and meet medical, mental health, and programming needs, oversees the Department\'s Classification system, reviews and approves the lodging of emerging adults, coordinates with DCF and DMH regarding transfers between departments, serves as a member of the Central Case Staffing Committee, and aids in the development and update of DOC policies.

\ \ This position requires significant coordination with internal and external stakeholders including facility and field staff, DOC Executive Staff, Risk Intervention Services, Health Services Division, the contracted medical provider, DOC General Counsel, Attorney General\'s Office, Defender General\'s Office, State\'s Attorneys, legislative and judicial staff, USMS, Prisoners\' Rights Office, Parole Board, and others.

As of July 14, 2024 the step 1 rate for pay grade 29 will be \$38.32 per hour.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed primarily in a standard office setting. Some travel to facilities and other departmental offices will be required, for which private means of transportation must be available. Significant pressure may be anticipated from dealing with politically sensitive issues. Some work outside of normal office hours may be required.
