Description:

Trinity Health Of New England is looking for an experienced Trauma Registrar to join our team of mission-driven healthcare innovators. This person is responsible for medical record review, coding review, data entry and report generation functions for the Trauma Registry

The ideal candidate will identify all patients admitted to Saint Mary’s Hospital for evaluation or treatment of injuries sustained as a result of trauma as defined by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma. Trauma Registrar categorizes and Maintains the Trauma Registry system according to the guidelines of the American College of Surgeons, the National Trauma Databank, and established CT State Registry procedures. Conducts thorough review of EMR for all patients meeting the trauma patient definition and abstracts data from the records for accurate entry into the Trauma Registry Databank/Program.

Work Hours/Shift:

  • Part-time / Hybrid, Monday – Friday 7am -3:30pm Day Shift

You Will Be Responsible For :

  • Exceptional Patient Care : Contributes to overall quality of nursing care through performance improvement techniques that impact patient care positively. ​ Excellent Communicator : Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with admin, colleagues, patients and family member.

  • Strong Educator: Educate patients and family members so that they have a transparent understanding of the care being provided.

  • Technical Familiarity: Understanding in computer-based applications (E-MAR, clinical documentation), email, and standard applications such as Microsoft Office.

  • Active Teamwork : Demonstrates problem solving, conflict resolution, and positive communication through teamwork.

Requirements :

  • Education : A.S. and/or equivalent experience in related field

  • Experience: 2 years health-related experience required

  • Skills: Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology and ICD-10-CM coding required. Knowledge of trauma severity scoring a plus. Self-motivation, independence, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, attention to detail. Strong computer application use and understanding essential.

  • Ability to pass drug screenings and background checks
