Smithsonian Institution Supervisory Management and Program Analyst in Washington, District Of Columbia
Summary The Smithsonian Institution is the world’s largest museum, education, and research complex, with 21 museums and the National Zoo. This position is located in the National Air and Space Museum (NASM), Business Operations and Technology Division. The Business Operations and Technology Division is responsible for providing all Business Operations, including the Finance, Administration. Human Resources, Acquisitions, IT and internal control services required to operate and maintain NASM. Responsibilities The Supervisory Management and Program Analyst is responsible for overseeing and managing NASM Personnel Management and General Administration Services. In this position, you will: Perform all the major aspects of a supervisor which include interviewing and selecting candidates for positions, training and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; conducts regular personnel actions. Engage with leadership to address administrative concerns or sensitive issues regarding recruitment, retention, or personnel management. Provide technical guidance, oversight, and direction for personnel and administrative services that facilitate organizational purchases, hiring, and employee services. Lead internal audits, studies, and reviews of programs and projects to identify inefficiencies in personnel management, workforce attrition, employee morale surveys, performance management, career advancement, and organizational structure. Develop formal presentations and briefing documents detailing the results of employee surveys, status of projects, budgets, procurement and contracting initiatives, and other initiatives that impact both employee and organizational performance. Prepare informational briefings to present financial, personnel, or organizational data, staffing profiles, operational policies, and business strategies to convey strategic topics, issues, achievements and goals for the organization. Qualifications GS-14 Experience: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal Service. For this position, specialized experience is defined as demonstrated knowledge of supervisory responsibilities including training, hiring, performance, and workloads. You must also have knowledge of personnel management and the allocation, reporting, and accountability of administrative and human resources. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Part-time and/or unpaid experience related to this position will be considered to determine the total number of years and months of experience. Be sure to note the number of paid or unpaid hours worked each week. Education There is no education requirement for this position at the GS-14 grade level. Additional Information This position is not included in the bargaining unit.
