Spatial GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Specialist - Secret Eligibility Required

HOW THE WATCHSTANDER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Conduct spatial analysis and geospatial modeling to measure and/or predict outcomes.

  • Produce maps showing the spatial distribution of various kinds of data, both government-provided and open-source, and provide technical user support for all aspects of geospatial data and software.

  • Create relationships between various data sets that can be cross-referenced in real-time, such as possible impacts to areas surrounding an incident and determining all the data points that are within a boundary in an incident.

  • Utilize application program interfaces (APIs) to incorporate multiple data sources and work with application vendors and the Government to set requirements for APIs where they do not already exist.

  • Support outreach and stakeholder engagement by developing communications strategies and conducting hands-on end-user training.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: BA/BS or equivalent experience

  • Required Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

  • Required Technical Skills:

  • Experience working with Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping tools such as Esri's ArcGIS, Google Maps, or Bing Maps

  • Experience using spatial modelling tools such as ArcGIS Indoors or SketchUp or equivalent.

  • ArcGIS Indoors experience strongly preferred

  • Experience working with and importing CAD data into existing spatial systems.

  • Experience working with REST APIs and integrating external data sources into GIS systems.

  • Security Clearance Level: Secret Eligible

  • Required Skills and Abilities: Strong oral and interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic environment; ability to convey conceptual ideas both written and verbally; strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook); customer service and problem-solving skill are essential

  • Location : On Customer Site, Washington, DC.

The likely salary range for this position is $119,000 - $161,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
