Job Description:

The Senior Analyst responds to bank member questions regarding compliance with assigned Federal banking laws, regulations, and guidance; supervisory expectations and experiences, and preparing for changes to regulations. The Senior Analyst directs members to appropriate resources as well as contributes to and supports ABA compliance resources. The Senior Analyst works closely with ABA subject matter experts and engages with bankers at all levels regarding compliance questions.

The Senior Analyst, Compliance serves as one of ABA’s compliance analysts conversant with and able to answer member questions about Federal consumer protection laws and regulations, with responsibility for the National Flood Insurance Act, Community Reinvestment Act, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, Truth in Lending Act, and Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act. The role also requires knowledge about restrictions on loans to bank insiders (Regulation O).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-manage ABA’s Compliance Hotline to answer bank member compliance questions related to Federal consumer financial protection laws, regulations, and guidance in a timely manner.

  • Research Federal Laws, Regulations, and guidance to respond to member questions.

  • Keep abreast of developments and changes to Federal law, regulation, and guidance through attending professional development conferences, webinars, and reading professional literature. Participate in ABA committee and working group calls in assigned areas of responsibility as needed.

  • Draft and edit compliance Q&As and articles for ABA journals, newsletters, bulletins, and other publications in assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Support subject matter experts by identifying emerging compliance and regulatory issues.

  • Assist in the planning and support of the Compliance Executive Committee meetings and calls.

  • Support and create compliance resources and solutions, such as ABA’s online Frontline courses and webinars.

  • Other duties as assigned by business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.

  • At least 7+ years of experience working with the National Flood Insurance Act, the Community Reinvestment Act, the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, the Truth in Lending Act, and Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, and Regulation O.

  • Understanding of and experience working with banking regulatory and supervisory processes and structure.

  • Strong research skills.

  • Strong writing and interpersonal skills and ability to analyze compliance questions and develop clear and reliable answers.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Experience working with bank compliance officers and committees.

  • Willingness to collaborate with other ABA staff, bankers, and other organizations.

  • Strong organization and time management skills.

  • Experience with meeting planning preferred.

  • Ability to travel (<20%).

Salary Range:

$81,848 -- $104,470 -- $135,093
