Role Summary: The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of OBIM and HART systems by developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance processes and standards. This role involves performing a variety of tests, conducting audits, and evaluating system performance to identify areas for improvement. The Quality Assurance Specialist collaborates with development teams, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure that all products and services meet the required quality standards and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities: Quality Assurance Planning: Develop and implement quality assurance plans and procedures, ensuring alignment with DHS guidelines and best practices. Testing and Evaluation: Conduct various types of testing, including functional, performance, and security testing, to ensure system quality and compliance. Audit and Compliance: Perform regular audits to ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements, documenting findings and recommendations. Defect Management: Identify, document, and track defects, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices for quality assurance. Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of quality assurance activities, including test plans, test cases, and audit reports. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality requirements are understood and met. Training and Support: Provide training and support to development teams on quality assurance processes and standards. Minimum Requirements: Experience: Over 5 years of relevant experience in quality assurance for large-scale IT systems, including experience with quality assurance tools and methodologies. Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in quality assurance tools and frameworks, such as Selenium, JIRA, and other relevant software. Certifications: Relevant certifications in quality assurance, such as ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) or equivalent. Knowledge and Expertise: In-depth understanding of quality assurance principles, methodologies, and best practices, particularly within the DHS Systems Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) or equivalent lifecycle processes. Education: A bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field, such as computer science, information technology, or engineering. Preferred: Advanced Technical Skills: Proficiency in additional quality assurance tools and software relevant to system testing and evaluation. Agile Methodologies: Experience with agile methodologies and tools, such as JIRA and Confluence. Security Testing: Understanding of security testing practices and tools to ensure compliance with relevant security standards. Project Management: Ability to manage and coordinate quality assurance activities across multiple projects, ensuring timely and accurate implementation of quality standards. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate quality assurance processes and findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Advanced Degrees: A master’s degree or higher in a relevant field, such as computer science, information technology, or engineering. Certifications: Additional certifications in project management, agile methodologies, or advanced quality assurance. Strategic Development: Experience in developing and implementing strategic quality assurance plans, including process improvement and innovation strategies. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring collaboration and integration of quality assurance activities across various technical domains.
