Actalent Project Engineer in Washington, District Of Columbia

Description:

Our client is a top engineering & construction management contractor who is currently hiring a Project Engineer to assist the Project Manager and Superintendent on fit out and renovation projects in the DC area! Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Organize and prioritize submittal requirements specified in contract documents and review for completeness

  • Supports Project Superintendent by monitoring quality of work and compliance with construction documents as assigned by the Project Superintendent

  • Assist the Project Superintendent with daily reports and the management of all progress and quality photos

  • Post all required safety information and signage to inform all workers and site visitors about site hazards and confirm appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn at all times, including mandatory hardhats and safety glasses

  • Model safety awareness and planning at all times while observing safety practices and report any concerns to the Project Superintendent or Project Manager

  • Supports the logistics process for all safety initiatives listed in the site-specific safety plan

  • Complete assigned and required training for this role

  • Ability to follow instructions, respond to management direction, take responsibility for own actions, and keep commitments

  • Work Environment and Physical Demands: The majority of work is completed outside at the construction site and in an office trailer where the project is monitored, and daily decisions are made about construction activities

  • The job requires the wearing of protective equipment when on the construction site (hardhats, safety glasses, and highly visible clothing)

Top Skills Required:

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related is preferred but not required if the candidate shows relevant experience

  • 1+ year of experience within the construction/engineering industry (professional or internships)

  • Interior Renovation on commercial/federal buildings is a plus
