Rite-Solutions, Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated Mid-Level Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to support 3 days/week on-site at our Maritime Plaza office in Washington, DC.

At Rite-Solutions, you'll play a key role in driving innovation in naval systems engineering. We're currently supporting a transformative project within the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), where we're leveraging MBSE to modernize and refactor some of the Navy's most complex software combat systems. This project is critical to the Navy's shift from monolithic, legacy software architectures to more flexible, scalable systems. You'll also be part of a team that values innovation and collaboration. In this role, you'll support the development of interconnected system and software architecture models that will guide code refactoring and modernization decisions. By utilizing automation tools like MagicDraw's Code Engineering toolset and AI-powered model generation capabilities, you'll help streamline the process, reduce time and cost, and ensure that software developers have timely, accurate models to inform their work.
Primary Responsibilities:
Leverage your understanding of SysML and UML to create comprehensive models to represent both the legacy and modernized software architectures.
Leverage automation tools to reduce time and cost in generating models.
Coordinate directly with software developers to ensure the software systems are modeled correctly.
Implement MSBE best practices and standards to ensure models are clear, concise, and useful.
Leverage Cameo Collaborator and develop custom report generation templates that increase model accessibility and usage.
You will apply your MBSE experience to create interconnected software architecture and system architecture models that enable efficient and rapid software refactoring for the Navy's most critical software combat systems. Responsibilities include developing SysML and UML models of software and system architectures, developing report generation templates using Velocity Templating Language (VTL), create advanced structured queries in Cameo Systems Modeler, following and refining the team's MBSE processes, coordinating model reviews, connecting SysML and UML models, and other modeling duties as assigned.
Requirements/Skills:
3+ years of applicable Systems Engineering experience (2 years may be supplemented with a Masters of Science in Systems Engineering or a related technical field).
Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering or a related technical field.
Foundational knowledge of Cameo Systems Modeler (Understanding of MagicDraw Code Engineering toolset is a plus).
Foundational understanding of SysML and UML with at least 2 years of experience building SysML and UML models in Cameo Systems Modeler (or MagicDraw).
Basic understanding of the different SysML and UML diagrams, and what types of information they show.
Exceptional soft skills, with the ability to communicate complex MBSE topics to non-technical government stakeholders and clearly articulate the benefits of MBSE.
Ability to start an MBSE project from scratch, including developing a project plan, growing a team, leading execution of the project plan.
U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance (active clearance preferred).
Additional Skills of Interest (not required):
OCSMP Model User certification.
INCOSE ASEP or CSEP certification.
Proficient in Jira and Confluence for project management and collaboration.
Experience in Agile MBSE.
Experience modeling Naval combat systems.
